Featuring the thrilling sounds of Spanish guitar, with original music composed by Paul Gerard as an accompaniment to poetry by Pete Hay, one of Tasmania’s leading poets.
This show is a sequel to the very popular ‘Evening in Andalusia’, but this time the show revolves around a different suite of poems from Pete’s book, ‘Girl Reading Lorca’. The interwoven poetry and music celebrate the colour and passion of Madrid at a time of civil disobedience and intense protest. This is set against scenes from Spain’s long history and its proud cultural legacy.
