Why can't I purchase tickets to Ticketmaster / Oztix / Theatre Royal / FOV events via your website?
Our website only hosts the ticket sales for events that are on sale directly through us. Further to these, we also act as an agent for Ticketmaster, Oztix, Theatre Royal and the Festival of Voices who have their own internet services. To purchase tickets to these events, please visit our office in the Elizabeth Street Mall. For Oztix, Theatre Royal and FOV events, you may also book over the phone on (03) 6234 5998. Ticketmaster enquiries and bookings can only be addressed at our office.
How secure are my credit card details?
Centertainment provides online ticketing sales through our partner Tickets.com using a system of Internet security called TicketSafe™. With the Tickets.com TicketSafe™ system at our website, and a secure browser at your end, you can rest assured that your credit card and anonymity are protected. We support the Verified by Visa service and the Verisign standard to provide a secure environment between your browser and our web site. A VeriSign electronic certificate ensures that you're in contact with Tickets.com and not a digital impostor. All data passed during the secure connection is encrypted for security and transferred with no opportunity of it being intercepted and used for any purpose other than the transaction you intend.
Will I be getting the best available seats and how are they allocated?
Online seating allocation is from the very best seats available at the time of booking, system wide. Our online ticket office is connected real time to our booking office ticketing system. This means when you buy the tickets, you get the best available at that point of time. The allocation of seats also takes into consideration information provided by the event organisers and the layout of the stage.
What about wheelchair bookings?
To insure wheelchair accessible seating allocation please contact Centertainment on (03) 6234 5998.
Patrons requiring other specific seating due to vision or hearing limitations can also contact Centertainment.
What does GA (General Admission) mean?
General Admission means that the seats are not allocated. It is recommended that you arrive half an hour prior to the performance to select your seat. General Admission tickets cannot be replaced if they are lost or stolen so be sure to keep them in a safe location.
What are the cut-off times for booking tickets through the Centertainment website?
The cut-off times for booking Centertainment tickets through the website are:
For matinee shows: 2.00pm, one day before the event date
For evening shows: 2.00pm, one day before the event date
Tickets, however, can also be purchased at Centertainment at 53 Elizabeth Mall, Hobart or by telephone on (03) 6234 5998.
Can I exchange my ticket over the internet?
No. Ticket exchanges vary per production. Please contact Centertainment on (03) 6234 5998 for details pertaining to the production you have selected or refer to the performance information.
Can I purchase a gift certificate online?
No. In the interests of patron security Gift Certificates are only available at Centertainment at 53 Elizabeth Mall, Hobart.
How old is a 'child'?
Unless otherwise stated a child is 15 years and under. For details check the event information or contact Centertainment on (03) 6234 5998 or at 53 Elizabeth Mall, Hobart.
Am I able to get a refund?
As a condition of sale, there are no refunds or exchanges once the booking is complete, except in the event of show cancellation and in accordance with applicable laws in the region of purchase. These are consistent with Australian consumer Law and the Live Performance Australia Ticketing Code of Practice.
My ticket has been stolen - what do I do?
- You should contact Centertainment on (03) 6234 5998 as soon as possible with all relevant purchase details at hand, and explain the situation that has occurred. You may be asked to provide a written copy of your claim, and/or a Statutory Declaration that supports your explanation of the situation.
- Centertainment will then liaise with the Promoter of the show or event regarding the possibility of obtaining replacement tickets.
- Please note that replacement tickets are issued at the Promoter's discretion only, therefore Centertainment cannot guarantee that your claim will be successful.
- If the promoter agrees with your request we will issue you with a replacement ticket. Please note that there is an administrative fee of $3.90 per ticket.
- We would like to inform you that there is no ticket replacement for GENERAL ADMISSION (ie. not reserved seating) events.
**Please note that General Admission tickets cannot be replaced if they are lost or stolen so be sure to keep them in a safe location.
What should I do if someone turns up with my lost or stolen tickets?
Highlight the problem to the venue staff immediately. Lost or stolen tickets that have been reported will have already been invalidated by Centertainment.
The show I bought tickets for has been cancelled - what happens now?
You will need to contact Centertainment if this happens. Where a show is cancelled and there is no opportunity for the performance to be re-scheduled, you will receive a refund on your ticket purchase. Please note, in most cases, your tickets will need to be returned to us before any refunds are processed. These terms are consistent with Australian consumer Law and the Live Performance Australia Ticketing Code of Practice.
How can I collect my tickets?
Unless otherwise specified, all tickets will be mailed out by regular post. We recommend that you allow 7 working days from the date of purchase for delivery.
Generally, tickets to local (Hobart) performances can be sent to the venue, for collection up to one hour before the performance. This option needs to be specified on booking.
Tickets can also be collected in person from the Centertainment office at 53 Elizabeth Mall, Hobart. You will need to provide appropriate identification such as a credit card, drivers licence or your email confirmation. If someone is collecting tickets on your behalf, he or she will need to provide written authorisation from you, and your email confirmation.
I want to sit with friends. How do I go about this?
If the event has reserved seating, and you would like to sit with friends, it is advisable to make your booking together. However, if this isn't possible, you will need to make the booking on (03) 6234 5998 and we will endeavour to sit you as close as possible to your friends.
What are the risks involved if I purchase Centertainment tickets from unauthorised ticket vendors?
Unauthorised ticket vendors may be selling stolen or lost tickets, and it is best not to buy tickets from them. Customers can be refused entry and will not be entitled to refunds should the event be cancelled or postponed.
What are the things I should check after receiving my tickets before leaving my point of purchase?
Check that the event title, date and time and price of the tickets are correct. Ensure that your tickets are not tampered with, defaced or torn. Please also read thoroughly the conditions of sale printed on the back of the tickets.
How long does it take for my tickets to reach me by mailing when I purchase them through the Centertainment website?
They should reach you within seven working days. Should you fail to receive your tickets within this period, please email us at email@example.com or call us on (03) 6234 5998. Please note that General Admission tickets will not be mailed out. They can be collected from Centertainment at 53 Elizabeth Mall or collected from the venue one hour before the performance time.
Do ticket prices vary from performance to performance within the same event?
There might be a range of prices indicated for a price category (eg Adult A Reserve). This is probably because there are different prices for performances on different days of the week or times of the day. Tickets might be cheaper earlier in the week (Monday or Tuesday) and earlier in the day (morning, matinee or early evening performances).

Can I buy concession tickets online?
Yes. The concessions applicable for the individual performances vary - see the event information for available concessions in the show you wish to see. Some concession types will not always be available online, such as groups and family tickets, however these be may booked over the phone or in person. Proof of concession eligibility must be provided when collecting tickets.
Are concessions available for all shows?
Concession prices are at the discretion of the Promoter. Check the information on the show you wish to purchase to find out if they have differing ticket prices.
Concessions are normally available for:
Holders of means-tested Australian pensions (Aged, Disability, Veterans' Affairs, Supporting Parent and Job Search)
Australian full-time students
In some cases Senior Card or Health Care Card holders are eligible for a Concession.
Proof of concession eligibility must be provided when collecting tickets.
Is there a booking fee over the web or phone?
Yes, there is a $2.20 internet booking fee per transaction and a $2.20 booking fee per ticket. For phone bookings, there is a one-off $3.50 booking fee applicable (this includes postage of your ticket if your seat is reserved, and if there are 7 working days prior to event).
Does my child need a ticket if they are sitting on my lap?
Generally, infants in arms or children without tickets will not be admitted unless otherwise stated in the event organisers' promotional materials. Please call us on (03) 6234 5998 for more information on the age requirement, as it differs from show to show.
Can I reserve tickets online without paying?
No. Payment must be made in order to secure a ticket.
Is there a way to avoid the booking fee?
The booking fee can be avoided by purchasing your ticket from Centertainment in person. We are located in the Elizabeth Mall Hobart and are open 9.00am - 5.30pm Monday to Friday and 10.00am - 2.00pm on Saturdays.
What are the options available for me to collect tickets?
You may collect your tickets either at the venue, from one hour before the event, or from Centertainment up to 2.00pm on the day before the event. You will need to provide appropriate identification such as a credit card, driver's licence or your email confirmation. If someone is collecting tickets on your behalf, he or she will need to provide written authorisation from you, and your email confirmation.
Where is Centertainment if I am picking up my tickets?
The Centertainment Booking Office is located at 53 Elizabeth Mall, Hobart. Standard hours are 9.00am - 5.00pm Monday to Friday and 10.00am - 1.00pm Saturdays.
I can't collect my tickets from Centertainment. What can I do?
If you can't collect your tickets before the event, we will have the tickets available at the venue, usually from one hour before the event. Just bring some ID with you. Proof of any concession entitlement may be required for ticket collection or to enter the venue.
Collection procedures vary for football, outdoor and major events. Check the information on the What's On page, and please - if you are not sure, ask.

How long before the show can I pick up my tickets?
Box Offices usually open 1 hour before the event and it is recommended that you pick up your ticket at least half an hour before the show is due to start.
What if I'm running late?
If you arrive at the venue after the advertised starting time the Front of House Concierge will have your tickets. Be aware that many shows observe a lockout on latecomers and you may not be admitted until a suitable break in the performance, or even the second half of the event.
What forms of ID do I need to pick up my tickets?
Generally you will require standard identification to collect your tickets (ie driver's license, credit card) as well as proof of concession for any concession tickets you may have purchased.
If you have purchased your tickets through Centertainment's website you will have an email confirmation and this will be sufficient identification. You will still need to show proof of concession.
